This recipe is a combination of various flavors, blend of black pepper, garlic powder, ground ginger, cheddar cheese and bacon mixed with minced beef, skewered. Delicious, served with rice.
Rice is cooked with cumin and onion, then simmered with tomato sauce and chicken broth for this yummy recipe.

Cook Time: 8-10 Minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • A dash each of black pepper, garlic powder, ground ginger
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup minced cooked bacon bits
  • 1 red onion cut into large pieces
  • 1 green pepper cut into large pieces
  • Wooden or metal kabob skewers

Directions

  1. Put the ground beef into a large mixing bowl and break apart.
  2. Sprinkle the spices onto the beef.
  3. Scatter the cheese, bacon and minced onions on top and completely mix mixture together.
  4. Shape the mixture into small compact balls.
  5. If using wooden skewers, have them pre-soaked to prevent burning.
  6. Alternate the green pepper, red pepper, onion and meatballs on the skewers.
  7. Grill on medium heat. Allow meat to set for 8 to 10 minutes, run a spatula under meat if needed and rotate.
  8. Brush with a thin steak sauce while its cooking.
  9. Or if you do not want to grill you can broil kabobs in the oven, 4 to 6 inches from heat source for 10 to 15 minutes or until done.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat and add rice. Cook, stirring constantly, until puffed and golden. While rice is cooking, sprinkle with salt and cumin.
  2. Stir in onions and cook until tender. Stir in tomato sauce and chicken broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
