Banana Split Waffles Recipe

Utensils Needed for Recipe: Measuring Cups Measuring Spoons Mixing Spoon Whisk Waffle Iron Large Mixing Bowl Small Mixing Bowl Microwave-safe Bowl Freezer Bag Rubber Spatula Butter Knife Cutting Board
  • 1 cup & 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1½ tablespoons baking powder
  • 1½ tablespoons sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 4½ tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3 bananas
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • Whipped cream
  • Maraschino cherries

  1. Have parents PREHEAT waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s directions.
  2. MIX the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar together in a large bowl then set aside.
  3. Using a whisk MIX the eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla.
  4. Slowly POUR the egg mixture into the flour mixture and whisk until there are no lumps present.
  5. POUR batter into waffle iron.
  6. COOK for 4-5 minutes or until light brown.
  7. PLACE chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and MELT in the microwave on high for about 2 minutes, stirring after every 30 seconds until melted. Let chocolate cool for 2 minutes
  8. CUT bananas into ½ inch slices and set aside.
  9. CUT off the tip of a plastic freezer bag. Using a rubber spatula, SCRAPE the chocolate into the bag. SQUEEZE the chocolate to the opening and DRIZZLE the chocolate back and forth onto the waffle.
  10. SPRINKLE pecan chips and banana slices on top of the waffle.
  11. ADD a dollop of whipped cream and TOP with a cherry.
