This recipe is going to go down in history as the sweetest and silkiest cherry cheesecake you have ever tasted! Cheesecake is a classic dessert. Way back it was one of those desserts that only the rich could afford. Times have obviously changed because most of us are not rich. This cheesecake is rich and decadent though. Before anyone switches the crust up for something else, try the sugar cookie dough first. This is truly the most delightful and yummy cheesecake you will ever have.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Why does the recipe call for Sour Cream?
The sour cream is what makes this cheesecake so silky smooth
- Can I use canned cherries?
You could, but trust me canned cherries do not taste as good as your homemade version will.
- Why did the cheesecake crack?
There could be a couple of reasons that it cracked. The batter may have been overmixed, it was overbaked, or there was a drastic temperature change.
- Can I fix the crack in the cheesecake?
There is no way to actually fix the crack. The crack will have no effect on the flavor of this dessert. If possible, just cover the top where it is cracked with the cherries. No one will know.
- Could I use a chocolate chip cookie dough roll instead of sugar cookie dough?
That would be just as tasty, if not more so. I think that would be an acceptable switch. If you are really talented, you could use a Snickerdoodle dough for the crust.
