Easy Fried Apple Pies Recipe

I tried this and loved it! If you like french toast and you like apple pie, you’ll love this! I just had to share this recipe…I was invited to dinner this evening and was served Apple Pie made with sliced white bread for dessert. It was really good, I would never have believed it was bread as the crust!! It is something I would make for a family dessert in a pinch!! Try it, it’s really different but good!

Ingredients:
For 8 serving

  • 4 Granny Smith apples (If you do not like apples, you can do with pears or peaches)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon (or more if you really like cinnamon)
  • 1/2 cup flour or cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  • A pack of white bread (need 16 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for browning the Pies)

Step 1

In a bowl mix eggs, milk and vanilla

Step 2

In another bowl mix: flour (or cornstarch), powdered sugar and cinnamon

Step 3
Cut apples, place in a pan and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes stirring all the time. When this tender and have juice, incorporate step 2 (flour, powdered sugar and cinnamon), mix gently and cook 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 4
Place 2 slices of bread in microwave for 5-10 seconds (depending on microwave power) Need a soft bread.

Place on a sliced ??2 tablespoons apple mixture (step3) cover with another slice of bread and cut with a glass. follow image.

Tip: press hard and turn the glass.

Step 5
Place 2 tablespoons butter in a pan, dip the bread stuffed with apple in step 1 mixture (egg, milk and vanilla) and fry on both sides until golden brown.

Serve with whipped cream and sprinkle cinnamon
