Pecan Pie Balls

There is no reason to tote a whole pie to parties, One pie likely would not be enough anyway. So here is a fantabulous idea. When you have a potluck, a picnic or a party coming up, make a batch or two of pecan pie balls.
The same taste as a slice of pie, only in a smaller amount. These little pie balls are adorable and delicious! Heck, these will even be great for your holiday treat tray!

This recipe is for another no bake treat. I keep telling you guys that I love to have recipes like this. The only differences between these and actual pecan pie?
These are covered in a chocolate coating and are easily carried around with you. I absolutely love these and so will you!

Do these taste like Pecan Pie?
These absolutely do! They do have a chocolate covering on them that makes a slight difference. Rather than a regular pie crust, this recipe has graham crackers.

Can I add bourbon for an adult party?
As you are mixing up the ingredients you could add a tsp or more to give the pecan pie balls a taste of bourbon. Just be sure the kids do not taste them.

How do I store these?

Ingredients

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 ½ cups pecan halves finely chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 to 8 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • 24 ounces chocolate almond bark

Instructions

FIRST STEP:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham crackers, brown sugar, maple syrup and the chopped pecans.
  • Add only enough of the melted butter so the mix comes together and can be rolled into a ball without falling apart

SECOND STEP:

  • Shape the mix into 1 inch sized balls and set on a tray lined with parchment paper
  • When all dough is rolled, set the tray into the refrigerator or the freezer for one hour

THIRD STEP:

  • Melt the almond bark according to package directions

FOURTH STEP:

  • Dip each one of the pecan pie balls into the melted chocolate and place back onto the parchment covered tray
  • Let sit until the chocolate hardens
