Ingredients
- 1 cup & 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1½ tablespoons baking powder
- 1½ tablespoons sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1½ cups milk
- 4½ tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- BANANA SPLIT TOPPINGS
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 3 bananas
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- Whipped cream
- Maraschino cherries
Instructions
- Have parents PREHEAT waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s directions.
- MIX the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar together in a large bowl then set aside.
- Using a whisk MIX the eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla.
- Slowly POUR the egg mixture into the flour mixture and whisk until there are no lumps present.
- POUR batter into waffle iron.
- COOK for 4-5 minutes or until light brown.
- PLACE chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and MELT in the microwave on high for about 2 minutes, stirring after every 30 seconds until melted. Let chocolate cool for 2 minutes
- CUT bananas into ½ inch slices and set aside.
- CUT off the tip of a plastic freezer bag. Using a rubber spatula, SCRAPE the chocolate into the bag. SQUEEZE the chocolate to the opening and DRIZZLE the chocolate back and forth onto the waffle.
- SPRINKLE pecan chips and banana slices on top of the waffle.
- ADD a dollop of whipped cream and TOP with a cherry.
