Materials

  • 1 deep-dish pie crust store-bought or homemade, 9-inch
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Kentucky bourbon optional
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans toasted
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts toasted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Set aside on a baking sheet.
  • In a large bowl, beat melted butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract and bourbon.
  • Whisk in the flour and salt until well combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips, pecans, and walnuts until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the filling into the prepared crust and spread evenly. Cover the edges of the crust with foil to prevent over-browning.
  • Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly gooey and puffed.
